It’s fair to say that Raheem Sterling hasn’t had the best of times when facing his former club Liverpool over the past few years.
Despite making huge strides as a player in recent seasons, most feel he has flattered to deceive against the Reds.
City fans on Twitter are hopeful that will all change this evening when the Merseysiders travel to the Etihad:
God please, let Sterling Shine in this game, long waiting for him to play well against his former club. This boy needs it

Sterling has gone the last three league games without scoring, with his last goal coming against Everton as a substitute in a 3-1 win. His only other goal in December came in the 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at the start of the month.
With the Citizens having lost three of their seven league games in December, Sterling and his side will be hoping to start the New Year in better form with a win against their title rivals. Three points would blow the title race wide open and set up an intriguing second half of the season.
