Manchester City have still not made a decision on whether they will hand captain Ilkay Gundogan a contract extension, according to reports in England.
The German international has nine months remaining on his current deal and he can talk to foreign clubs about a free transfer in the New Year.
Considering Gundogan is a leader in the dressing room and has played a key role for the club over the years, supporters on Twitter feel the midfielder deserves much better treatment:
This is getting disrespectful, give the man a new contract ffs 😩🤦

It’s likely that City are uncertain about whether to offer Gundogan a long-term deal. With the player turning 32 later this month, they are probably hesitant about giving him a lucrative new contract, with the concern that his performances could begin to decline in the not too distant future.
Barcelona have been tipped as a potential suitor for Gundogan in recent weeks, while Arsenal are known to have a longstanding interest in the German.
