‘I’m Sorry, WHAT??’ ‘Joke Of A Club’ ‘Ridiculous’ Fans Not Happy After Hearing City Player’s Asking Price

Manchester City may allow defender Aymeric Laporte to leave the club for only €30m (£25.6m) this summer, according to Sky Sport Italia (via Tutto Juve).

The Spanish international has now been linked with a move to Juventus, while previous reports have mentioned the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and former club Athletic Bilbao as possible suitors.

City supporters on Twitter are, however, very unhappy that the treble winners are not holding out for a higher fee to sell Laporte:

The asking price is pretty low

Considering that Laporte still has two years left on his contract at the Etihad, you would have to say that City are undervaluing the centre-back.

He is not exactly old either, having recently turned 29, and the fact that he has won fourteen trophies (including five Premier League titles and a Champions League) in his five and a half years in England should be factored in to any valuation.

It may simply be the case that Sky Sport Italia have inaccurate information and that Laporte’s actual price tag is a lot higher, but we shall have to wait and see.

City may be trying to raise funds to sign Gvardiol

RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol is clearly being lined up as Laporte’s replacement but, with his club demanding €100m (£85m) for his services, City may be willing to sell players for lower prices so they can force through a deal for the Croatian.

All the signs, though, do point towards Laporte leaving Manchester in the not-too-distant future.
