Agent Reveals City And Barcelona Have Joined Liverpool In Scouting “Huge Talent”

Manchester City are keeping tabs on Lecce fullback Patrick Dorgu, according to the player’s agent.

Reports in Italy earlier this week claimed that Liverpool were weighing up a move for the Denmark Under 19 international but the defender’s representative, Kingsley Ogbodo, says there are a number of teams scouting the youngster:

“Liverpool is of course not the only club that wants him. There are many clubs here in England who are keeping an eye on him. Manchester City kept an eye on him when he played against England for the U19 national team in Hobro in Denmark. Lecce’s scout has also told me that Barcelona is also keeping an eye on Patrick, because he is a huge talent.”

Ogbodo also emphasised that Dorgu should not move to a team where he wouldn’t be featuring for the first team straight away, which would probably rule City out of the running, as well as Liverpool.

Dorgu has yet to play a senior match

The teenager joined Lecce from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland last summer, but he was sent to play with the Serie A club’s Primavera (Under 19) team.

Dorgu has impressed at youth level, helping Lecce win the title, and his performances have undoubtedly grabbed the attention of many top clubs across Europe. He still hasn’t, though, made his senior debut.

If he does take the advice of his agent, the defender may well remain at Lecce and try and make his first-team breakthrough there.

City have been targeting a number of young players

The treble winners have already recruited Spike Brits from AFC Wimbledon this summer and they have also been linked with a number of youth stars at other teams.

Sunderland keeper Toby Bell, West Brom’s Jamal Jidoh and Leicester City’s Tyrese Noubissie are all thought to be on the club’s radar.
