United Join City And Chelsea As Races Heats Up In Battle To Secure £60m England Star

Manchester United have joined Manchester City and Chelsea in the race to sign Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell, according to the Sun.

The Red Devils are reportedly keen on replacing Luke Shaw and they are said to be in “pole position” to sign the England international, who is valued at £60m by the Foxes.

City are, though, very much still in the running for Chilwell with the Sun claiming that manager Pep Guardiola is looking at strengthening the left-back position after being left unconvinced by Benjamin Mendy.

It has been noticeable that Oleksandr Zinchenko has started ahead of the Frenchman in recent games, although there could be an element of rotation in Guardiola’s selection decisions.

Even so, Chilwell has remained a long-term target and United’s interest in the fullback will certainly complicate matters. Much may depend on whether the Citizens are prepared to compete financially in order to win the battle for the Leicester defender.
