Wayne Rooney Claims There Is ONE Arsenal Player Who Can Stop Erling Haaland And He Won’t Be Playing On Wednesday

Former Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney says Arsenal will have to forget about trying to stop Manchester City’s Erling Haaland when the two sides face each other on Wednesday night.

Rooney believes that, without William Saliba who looks set to miss the potential title decider with a back injury, the Gunners will have to focus on scoring more goals than the Citizens, rather than attempting to keep Haaland quiet:

“How do they stop Erling Haaland? With William Saliba injured, there’s no prospect of matching his pace and power individually, and the only way is to go out and try to impose their own game.”

To be perfectly honest, even with Saliba fit, Arsenal would still find it extremely difficult to stop Haaland from getting in the goals.

While the Norwegian international didn’t get on the scoresheet when the two teams met in the FA Cup back in January, he did score when the Premier League champions put their rivals to the sword in the first league encounter a couple of months ago.

If Rooney’s remarks are anything to go by, it could well be an extremely lively fixture at the Etihad, with both teams going for the win.
