Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson thinks Arsenal could be a suitable destination for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero if the 32-year-old decides to stay in England when he leaves the Etihad in the summer.
There have been reports that Chelsea and Manchester United have both already made offers to the Argentinian international but Merson believes a switch to the Gunners would make more sense:
“Will he stay in England or will his next move be abroad? If he stays in England, I think Arsenal would suit the style he would be looking for. They’d be a good choice. Mikel Arteta was at Manchester City and the way Arsenal play; they get around the box and they do create a lot of opportunities. Arsenal do tick that box for Aguero.”
Unsurprisingly, City supporters on Twitter weren’t too impressed with Merson’s suggestion, with many seeing Aguero joining a club with Champions League football next season:
Would never downgrade

It’s strange to think that Aguero could be lining up against City in the Premier League next campaign. Reliable reports in the UK have said that the Argentine has not completely ruled out staying in England, but City fans will be hoping that he opts for a move abroad instead. It is claimed that the likes of Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona could also be looking to sign him.
