City Closing In On £43m Deal For 31-Goal Midfielder And Also Set Sights On £102.5m Rated Starlet

Bruno Fernandes

Manchester City are in advanced talks with Sporting Lisbon over signing Bruno Fernandes, according to Goal.com.

Reports in Portugal last week suggested that City had offered €50m (£43m) for the midfielder, and those claims have been backed up.

However, it appears the Citizens will offer €50m plus two players in order to secure a deal, with Sporting having initially demanded €60m for Fernandes.

The 24-year-old has been in outstanding form, having bagged a hat-trick against Belenenses in the Portuguese league yesterday to take his goal tally for the season to an astonishing 31 in all competitions.

Fernandes isn’t the only player in Portugal, though, City are looking to sign this summer. Benfica starlet Joao Felix is also believed to be a target.

The 19-year-old has a €120m (£102.5m) release clause, but he is one of Europe’s most talented young players, having scored 18 goals and contributed 11 assists during his first season of senior football.

Both Felix and Fernandes have also been linked with moves to Manchester United and Liverpool in recent months.
