City One Of Several Premier League Teams To Be Offered 7M Rated Spanish Defender

Manchester City have been offered the chance to sign Benfica left-back Alejandro Grimaldo this summer, according to reports in the English media.

The Spaniard has just one year left on his contract and it has been suggested that Benfica may only hold out for a fee in the region of €7m (£6m) for the defender.

City are, though, thought to be just one of the many Premier League clubs that have been given the opportunity to sign Grimaldo.

The likes of Arsenal and West Ham have also been mentioned as potential suitors in recent weeks, although the Gunners have signed Oleksandr Zinchenko, which will likely rule them out of the running.

You’d have to say that City are also not expected to pursue Grimaldo. Pep Guardiola’s number one target is Brighton’s Marc Cucurella, while there are almost certainly other names that feature above Grimaldo on the list of alternative options.
