Manchester City and Arsenal are among the teams “most interested” in purchasing RB Leipzig winger Dani Olmo, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish international has been tipped for a return to Barcelona, where he came through the club’s famed La Masia academy.

However, it is believed there are multiple other clubs pursuing Olmo’s services. City and Arsenal are leading the way, along with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, but Chelsea could enter the running too.

The 25-year-old has spent the last three and a half years in Germany but his performances this season have taken him to another level.

Olmo bagged 5 goals and contributed 1 assist in 4 appearances before he picked up a knee injury back at the start of September.

A release clause makes Olmo an attractive transfer target for City

The Spaniard only signed a contract extension back in June, keeping him at the Red Bull Arena until 2027, but there was a clause included that allows him to leave for €60m (£52m).

That figure is unlikely to put off City or any other team who are keen to secure Olmo’s signature next year.

Olmo is open to joining any team

It has been reported in the German media that the forward has his heart set on moving back to Barca.

However, Mundo Deportivo claim that Olmo is “not closing any doors”, meaning there is a chance for City to sign the player, who has been on their radar for quite some time.

After spending £55.5m bringing in Jeremy Doku from Rennes just a couple of months ago, though, it is up for debate whether the Premier League champions will be in the market for another winger.

It should be pointed out that Olmo can play other positions too, having also been deployed regularly as a No.10 over the course of his career.
