Manchester City are “exploring the market for another winger”, according to the Daily Mail columnist Simon Jones.

Writing in his Transfer Confidential column, Jones revealed that Wolves forward Pedro Neto is “among” the Premier League champions’ list of targets along with Girona’s Savio and Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia,

Neto, in particular, has been regularly linked with a switch to the Etihad in recent weeks, with another prominent journalist David Ornstein having also mentioned the Cityzens as potential suitors for the Portuguese international.

There are a couple of complicating factors that may prevent Pep Guardiola’s side from signing the player though. The winger has had his fair share of fitness problems and he has only recently returned from a serious hamstring injury.

It is also believed that City will have to fend off competition from Arsenal for Neto’s services, although the Gunners will only be able to make their move during the summer transfer window.

What about the club’s interest in Savio?

The Brazilian is owned by the City Football Group. He’s registered with Troyes but he has been on loan at Girona, where he has impressed with 10 goal involvements in 20 league appearances, helping his team to the top of the La Liga table.

It was reported last week that Barcelona have also been keeping tabs on Savio but City are effectively in control of the 19-year-old’s future.

City have a longstanding interest in Kvaratskhelia

The Cityzens began scouting the Georgian international during his debut season at Napoli, with the winger playing a pivotal role as the Serie A club won their first title in three decades.

It appears that City have continued to watch Kvaratshelia, although it is thought that the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle could also enter the battle for the 22-year-old’s services if he becomes available.
