City, United And Arsenal On Alert As Rodgers Drops Surprising Hint About 34M Rated Midfielder’s Future Plans

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested that Youri Tielemans could see out his contract with the Foxes, rather than leave at the end of the season.

The Belgian’s current deal expires in 2023, but reports in the French media earlier this week indicated that Manchester City had joined other clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, in pursuing the midfielder ahead of a summer bid. Rodgers, though, says the player may commit himself to staying for another year:

“He is a joy to work with and however long that is, if it is until the end of his contract or beyond that, he will give everything to the club.”

Whether Rodgers is revealing Leicester’s transfer stance on Tielemans, it is not clear. It has been claimed that the Midlands club would consider selling the 24-year-old for around €40m (£34m) in order to prevent him from leaving for nothing.

However, it seems there is a possibility that the player will remain at the King Power Stadium for another eighteen months before being released on a free transfer. We shall see whether City will try and make a move before then.
