Crystal Palace Vs Manchester City: Match Preview & Injury News

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will play Crystal Palace at the weekend, as the Sky Blues look to keep their title challenge on track. Can the reigning champions pick up a vital win at Selhurst Park?

The Citizens almost have a clean bill of health within their squad for the weekend. Their only injury concern is Phil Foden, who is suffering from an ankle problem. He could be ready to play against Palace, though, assuming he passes his fitness test.

In their last Premier League game, City defeated a tough Newcastle United side by a score of 2-0. Foden scored a beautiful solo goal, followed up by a smart finish from Bernardo Silva. It was just Newcastle’s third league defeat all season (with the other two coming against Liverpool and Manchester United) – the Sky Blues made it look relatively easy.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace fell to defeat in their last game, as they were beaten 1-0 by Unai Emery’s Aston Villa in a drab outing. Palace’s Joachim Andersen scored the only goal of the game – unfortunately, it was at the wrong end of the pitch.

The two teams played each other for the first time this season all the way back in August. In that game, the Eagles looked poised to cause a major upset as they entered the break 2-0 up – however, City did not rest on their laurels. Erling Haaland scored a hattrick, alongside a strike from Bernardo to give City the three points.
