Arsenal legend Ian Wright says he doesn’t expect Manchester City to lose any of their last twelve Premier League fixtures.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been phenomenal in previous seasons when picking up points in the run-in and Wright says the Gunners’ squad shouldn’t expect the Premier League champions to give them an easy ride:
“If I’m playing in Arsenal’s dressing room right now, I’m not expecting City to lose any more games. You know that you’re going to have to go out there and if it goes to the last second, that’s what you’ve got to do.”
“You don’t want to look yourself in the mirror and say you could have tried harder in this game or that game. You get some luck… You get some bad luck… But you’re not stopping, you are fighting until the end.”
It should be noted that City don’t have to play any of the ‘Big Six’ away from home before the end of the season. They take on Liverpool at the Etihad on April 1st, while they will also face Arsenal and Chelsea at home.
That means they do have a realistic chance of finishing the campaign unbeaten, as Wright says, but only if they perform to their usual levels.
There could be a few banana skins on the road, with trips to Brighton, Fulham and Brentford on the final day, but City are in good shape to hunt Arsenal down at the top of the table.
