‘He Knows Ball’ ‘Mount Fans Fuming’ Supporters React As Thiago Silva Reserves Special Praise For City Starlet

Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva has named Manchester City’s Phil Foden as the best young player in the Champions League this season.

The Brazilian veteran could have named the likes of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland or even teammate Mason Mount, but he decided to go with the 21-year-old instead:

“Well, I’ve played against him a few times already, especially this season. And I’ll be facing him once again [in the final] — Phil Foden from Manchester City.”

It does show you how much an impression Foden has made on his fellow professionals this campaign, and supporters on Twitter are glad that players are seeing what they see in the England international:

Foden’s statistics in all competitions this season have been extremely impressive. The midfielder has scored 16 goals and contributed 10 assists in 49 appearances for the Citizens.

In the Champions League, he came up with two crucial goals in the quarter-final tie against Borussia Dortmund, while his assist for Riyad Mahrez’s second goal in the semi-final second leg versus PSG was also very important. Hopefully, he can pop up with another telling contribution in the final this evening.
