Manchester City trio Kalvin Phillips, John Stones and Kyle Walker all missed training ahead of the Champions League clash against FC Copenhagen.
Phillips underwent shoulder surgery last month, with it being suggested that he could be out until the World Cup. The England international has only played three matches since arriving from Leeds for £42m in the summer and fans on Twitter are wondering whether the club made a mistake in recruiting the player:
It’s not looking good brev

Man I really feel for Kalvin Phillips, I hope he recovers quickly and comes back to fight for the team. He deserves it

Kalvin Phillips was yet another poor buy by txiki. No research done on him at all.

Phillips did have a lengthy spell out injured with a hamstring issue last season so there were signs that the player’s fitness record wasn’t the best.
When he does fully recover from surgery, it will be hoped that it is the last we see of his injury problems for a while. Of course, the 26-year-old may still find it hard breaking into the first team, with Rodri being in such good form, but manager Pep Guardiola will be happy to have more options available to him.
