Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf believes Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are the three favourites for the Premier League title ahead of Tottenham.

Spurs moved back to the top of the table after their victory over Arsenal yesterday evening but when asked to assess their chances of winning the league, Leboeuf said he feels there are other teams who are better equipped:

“I think they have a chance but you’ll need something happening to other clubs in order for Tottenham to win. I think, if you really want my truth, either City, Liverpool and maybe Chelsea will be the winner or the champion. Tottenham have a chance if Liverpool have some injuries, if Chelsea start to have injuries and if City don’t find their football back then they have a chance. That’s it.”

The bookies do go along with Leboeuf’s comments to some extent. Liverpool remain favourites, with City trailing behind them. However, the odds actually place Tottenham joint-third with Chelsea at the moment.

Of course, a lot can change as we head into a very busy festive fixture program. The Premier League table could look a lot different when we get to January.

City have certainly picked up their form in recent weeks, with four consecutive clean sheets since the loss to Spurs, and they currently sit in 6th place going into the Manchester derby this weekend.
