Lewandowski’s Transfer Stance Revealed As City And Chelsea Fight It Out For 52M Rated Goal Machine

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has not decided on whether he will leave the Bundesliga side this summer, according to ESPN.

The Polish international has two years remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena but he has yet to commit to signing a new deal.

Signing an extension would essentially signal Lewandowski’s intention to retire in Germany so the fact he is stalling may mean he could yet be tempted into moving clubs. ESPN claim both Manchester City and Chelsea are monitoring developments.

The Citizens are looking for a new number nine, with Sergio Aguero leaving when his contract expires in June, and manager Pep Guardiola is likely to be keen to work with Lewandowski again, after spending three years as his manager at Bayern.

For their part, Bayern are expected to demand €60m (£52m) for the forward, despite the player turning 33 in August. The striker’s incredible goal record means he could well be worth the outlay.
