Man City Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Ederson And 2 Others

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he does not know whether Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland will play against Crystal Palace.

The pair were left on the bench for the 4-1 win over Aston Villa on Wednesday evening, prompting speculation about their fitness.

Guardiola has hinted that he is reluctant to risk them, with there being only a couple of days between the Villa and Palace fixtures.

Considering that they were clearly available to play in some capacity against Villa after being named on the bench, the duo should be in contention for the trip to Selhurst Park.

Expected Return Date – Saturday 6th April v Crystal Palace

Manchester City’s number one Ederson is closing in on a return to full fitness and he could well be in the starting lineup to face the Eagles.

The Brazilian international has not featured since before the international break, having injured himself when giving away a penalty during the 1-1 draw versus Liverpool.

Ederson has been working hard to recover from the thigh problem but he has been out of action for the best part of a month now.

Stefan Ortega has performed well in his absence, but Guardiola says Ederson is doing “much better” and may be included in the matchday squad this weekend.

Expected Return Date – Saturday 6th April v Crystal Palace

Kyle Walker and Nathan Ake remain unavailable with both defenders said to be working hard to be back as soon as possible.

City’s medical staff believe Walker won’t return in time for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid due to a tight hamstring.

However, Guardiola feels the right-back may still have a chance of making the game due to his ability to recover quickly from injuries.

Ake is currently struggling with a calf problem and he is not expected to be available for the next couple of matches.
