Louis Saha Names His “Favourites” To Win The Premier League

Ex-Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes Manchester City are the “favourites” for the Premier League title.

Pep Guardiola‘s side are currently sitting in third place behind leaders Arsenal and Liverpool but, speaking to Paddy Power, Saha said the reigning champions have the “firepower” to secure their sixth league championship in seven years:

“For so many reasons, I still think Manchester City are the favourites for the title. It seems that Arsenal seems to be better than last year and have learned from their mistakes last season – that’s why they’re in this position. Liverpool have shown that they have tremendous belief in themselves and can hurt pretty much anybody. But Manchester City are still stronger, and they have more firepower, especially in the last few weeks.”

“It’s good for the Premier League to have three teams fighting for the title. With the experience Manchester City have at this stage of the season, they are more equipped than the others. Liverpool have a similar, if not as strong, setup and the manager is very good too. It would be a nice farewell [to Jürgen Klopp] if they do win the title. It’s exciting but City are more equipped than Arsenal or Liverpool.”

City will have the opportunity to go top of the table this weekend

With Guardiola’s men playing against Luton Town on Saturday, they will have the chance to displace Arsenal in 1st place if they secure the three points.

Both the Gunners and Liverpool play a day later, with the former taking on Aston Villa while the latter host Crystal Palace.

Who have the bookmakers made the favourites for the title?

The odds have been swinging one way and the other at the bookies. This time last week, Liverpool were favoured to win the league but, after their draw at Old Trafford last weekend, the Reds have fallen down to third in the running.

City are back on top with most bookmakers, with Sky Bet pricing them at 13/8, while the vast majority of other betting firms have Arsenal at 7/4.
