“I Continue To Say It…” Rio Ferdinand Issues Prediction As City, Arsenal And Liverpool Vie For PL Title

TNT Sports pundit Rio Ferdinand says that Manchester City remain his favourites for the Premier League title.

The reigning champions currently trail leaders Arsenal by one point, but Liverpool could go top and increase the gap to three if they beat Sheffield United on Thursday night. Asked whether he has changed his title prediction, Ferdinand said he is sticking with Pep Guardiola‘s side as their remaining fixtures are pretty kind:

“On paper, I think Man City have got the easier run-in. The experience is going to play a big part. I think Liverpool and those three away games at Fulham, Everton and West Ham are difficult.”

“I think Arsenal have the toughest run-in. I’ve said Man City from the beginning of the season and I continue to say it now.”

Who do City have left to play in the league this season?

After beating Aston Villa at the Etihad midweek, the Cityzens face Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon. In between the two legs of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Real Madrid, they host Luton Town at the Etihad.

Before the end of April, Guardiola’s men also take on Brighton and Nottingham Forest away from home, ahead of matches versus Wolves, Fulham and West Ham. The postponed game against Tottenham (which is arguably the toughest fixture left) hasn’t been rescheduled yet.

Which team is favourites for the Premier League title at the bookmakers?

For the first time this season, Liverpool are now the frontrunners at the bookies to clinch top spot. BetVictor has the Reds at 11/8 to win the league.

City are currently 15/8 with Sky Bet while Arsenal have slightly longer odds, with Bet 365 pricing them at 11/4. Of course, a lot can change depending on results in upcoming games and Ferdinand still firmly believes the current champions have what it takes to keep their crown.
