Matthijs de Ligt’s Transfer Demands Revealed As City Are Named As One Of His 4 Potential Destinations

Matthijs de Ligt will “agree to leave” Juventus if a team matches the €12m a season (£197,000 a week) he is currently earning at the Serie A club, according to Calciomercato.it.

The Italian website claim that the Netherlands international has four potential “destinations” that include Manchester City, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

However, it is believed that Real may rule themselves out, after signing Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger, so it could well be a three-team battle for de Ligt’s signature.

The 22-year-old has two years remaining on his contract at Juve but Calciomercato report that talks over an extension with the Italian side have hit the buffers after he was asked to reduce his salary to €7.5m a season.

It means that de Ligt could be on the market this summer. Whether City actually need another centre-half, it is doubtful. Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte, John Stones and Ruben Dias all have contracts that expire in 2025 or later so it is not an area of the pitch that manager Pep Guardiola would be looking at strengthening.
