‘He’s Just The Best’ Pundit Names Manchester City Head Coach As Best Manager In The World

Former Everton defender Ashley Williams has named Pep Guardiola as his pick for the best manager in world football in a recent interview.

Williams praised Guardiola’s tactical astuteness, speaking on how he is always making adjustments to his team – even during a hotly-contested game.

The former Welsh international said that Guardiola is always ‘evolving’ and credits this adaptability as to how he has managed to stay relevant in the elite level for so long.

What did Ashley Williams say regarding Pep Guardiola?

Speaking on FIVE’s official YouTube channel, Williams said: “He’s still evolving the team all the time, man. By the time everyone catches up with him, Pep, he’s onto the next thing already. I bet you he’s on some next formation, something different in his head.

“By the time everyone’s caught with the way they play, it’s something else. It’s a different build or style or something. He’s just the best, man.”

Is Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola the best manager in the world?

The title of ‘best manager in the world’ is lofty praise – additionally, it is also a moniker that changes regularly, based on recent performances. As things stand, however, we feel it is entirely fair to bestow this honour upon Guardiola.

Last season, the Spaniard took City to unprecedented heights, as he led them to the Premier League title, the Champions League and the FA Cup in a sensational treble-winning campaign.

Of course, his achievements are much more extensive than what he accomplished last season. Over the span on Guardiola’s illustrious managerial career, he has won three La Liga titles, two Copa Del Rey trophies, three Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokal trophies, five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and three Champions League trophies.

This list also does not include other accolades that he has picked up, such as the Club World Cup, the Community Shield and the UEFA Super Cup.

That is a trophy cabinet that would make even the most decorated managers in history, such as Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho, blush. Indeed, not only is Guardiola currently the best manager in the world – he is one of the best head coaches who has ever lived.
