Report Names £81m Rated Defender And 19 Goal Striker As City Target FIVE More Signings

Manchester City are planning five more signings following the capture of Ferran Torres from Valencia, according to Sky Sports.

With Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake expected to move to the Etihad in the next day or so, the Citizens are also targeting another centre-back, a left-back, a striker and a replacement for David Silva.

The likeliest centre-half to be targeted is Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly but with a price tag of €90m (£81m), a deal for the 29-year-old is unlikely to be agreed any time soon. The defender is also reportedly a target for Manchester United and Liverpool.

City are also looking for a long-term successor for Sergio Aguero and they are said to have made Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez their main priority.

The Argentine has scored 19 goals for the Nerazzurri this campaign, but with the 22-year-old keen on a move to Barcelona, it will be a challenge to secure his services.

It is believed that the Manchester club are aiming to get all five new additions in through the door by September 12th, when next season kicks off, but it remains to be seen if everything goes to plan.
