Romano Confirms City’s 5.5M Bid For Brazilian Wonderkid As They Look To See Off Challenge From Arsenal

Manchester City have made an “official” offer for Atletico Mineiro forward Savinho, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian reporter claims that the Premier League champions have tabled a bid worth €6.5m (£5.5m) plus add-ons, with the plan to loan him out to PSV immediately after his purchase:

As Romano also mentions, Arsenal and the Red Bull Group are interested in Savinho too but it should be pointed out that City have been masters at snapping up young players from Brazil in recent years.

After signing Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras in 2017, they have since secured the services of the likes of Yan Couto, Metinho and Kayky for relatively modest fees.

If City do manage to get a deal done for Savinho, it would be a big coup considering the winger is very highly rated in Brazil. Atletico Mineiro reportedly set his release clause at around the €60m (£50m) mark.
