Bayern Munich have already informed Manchester City that they won’t trigger their option to sign Joao Cancelo for β¬70m (Β£62m) this summer, according to reports in the English media.
The Portuguese international is on loan at the Bundesliga champions until the end of the season, but it appears that Bayern have ruled out keeping the player on the terms that have been agreed.
It is believed that none other than Chelsea may be interested in taking Cancelo off City’s hands, and fans on Twitter are very much split on whether they should sell the defender to the Blues:
He can go there and flop π

Reports suggest that City are keeping tabs on Ben Chilwell and, as some supporters have suggested, there could be a potential swap deal on the cards.
Whether that would be a good idea, it is up for debate. Chilwell is a couple of years younger than Cancelo and is naturally left-footed, but he is injury prone. We shall see how this transfer story plays out.
