‘Looks Like A Burnley Away Kit’ ‘I Really Like This’ City Fans On Social Media React To Leaked Images Of New Home Shirt

Photos purportedly showing Manchester City’s new home kit have leaked onto Twitter.

The Puma designed shirt has a lot of purple trimming which hasn’t gone down well with a lot of supporters:

However, some fans do seem to be liking the design going by comments on social media:

Puma have taken over from Nike as the club’s kit manufacturer. The 10-year contract is reportedly worth a massive £650m, which covers all of City’s franchised clubs, with the exception of New York City and Yokohama F Marinos.

The purple is closer to maroon than seen in previous pictures, but it is still a departure from recent Nike designs.

Historically, City have had purple trimming and stripes on their socks, but its prominence on the shirt will not sit well with some supporters.

Whether the shirt will be accompanied by similar style shorts and shocks, we shall have to wait and see.
