Manchester City midfielder Rodri has now played 70 games for the club without losing following the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
The Spanish international has been an incredibly important player for Pep Guardiola‘s side and that fact has been reinforced after he reached this latest milestone.
Fans on X have been paying tribute to Rodri’s contribution to the City cause over the past few years:

Rodri’s teammate has praised him for reaching 70 games unbeaten
After the victory against Forest, Nathan Ake was asked about Rodri’s achievement and he said:
“It’s an incredible record. You don’t see that often. He’s so important for our team, every game he plays. In his role especially he’s massive, he’s important. He scored important goals and plays really well. He’s got this fight to not lose games so hopefully we can keep it going for him until the end.”
Ake is not lying when he says Rodri is key to their chances. Without the midfielder this season, the Cityzens have lost four out of nine games.
City fans will be hoping the unbeaten run stretches to 75
With Guardiola’s men having five games remaining (including the FA Cup final against Manchester United), the goal is to secure victory in every fixture.
If City do that then Rodri will not only extend his unbeaten stretch but the 27-year-old will also be able to enjoy a league and cup double.
