Kevin De Bruyne’s form this season has come as no surprise to many, but for some of us who don’t watch City quite so religiously will have been taken back by just how sublime the Belgian was on Saturday against Stoke.

The midfielder has started all of City’s 8 Premier League games so far this season, and has chipped in with 6 assists as well as a goal. But those stats just do not do the man justice, De Bruyne has been nothing short of world class so far this season – and many have predicted a potential PFA Player of the Year award come the end of the season.

One man who supports that is former Manchester City star Paul Lake. In fact, Lake’s wife has gone as far as saying that he will do a “naked conga” with her in a car park in Stockport if the Belgian does not win the award.

With Manchester City sitting comfortably at the top of the table and with the squad looking almost unbeatable, there’s no surprise Guardiola has been having plenty of praise heaped on him during the campaign. But De Bruyne’s influence on the team is finally starting to show to the wider public, and former midfielder Lake will hope he can continue his terrific form.
