Manchester City are keeping tabs on AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website claims the Citizens have joined Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the list of “top tier clubs” who are currently “taking information” on the Portuguese international.

Other reports last month had named three other English Premier League teams (Arsenal, Everton and Wolves) as potential suitors for Leao, but it seems his performances in recent weeks have also attracted the attention of City.

The 22-year-old has scored 11 goals and contributed six assists in 32 appearances this campaign, with his blistering pace on the counter-attack helping to spearhead Milan’s title challenge.

Leao is believed to be in talks over signing a contract extension with the Serie A leaders so, whether City have a genuine chance of securing his signature, it seems quite unlikely at this stage. We shall see how this transfer story develops in the coming weeks.
