Napoli have slapped an “enormous £150m price tag” on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to 90min.com journalist Graeme Bailey.
Both Manchester City and Newcastle are believed to be keen admirers of the Georgian international but Bailey feels it is more likely that the player will remain in Italy this summer:
“Napoli would be looking at an enormous £150m price tag for Kvaratskhelia at this point. Both [teams] could conceivably afford to pay that colossal sum as two of the wealthiest clubs in the world, but a deal this summer looks highly unlikely. Instead, Napoli firmly believe a new and improved contract extension is likely.”
Kvaratskhelia has been linked with other Premier League teams as well, including Chelsea and Arsenal, but the cost of the transfer will seemingly price out most clubs.
City are known to be in the market for a winger, with AC Milan’s Rafael Leao having also been mentioned as a target for the Premier League champions, but a deal for Kvaratskhelia does look to be off the table for now.
The 22-year-old has been in phenomenal form for Napoli, having racked up 12 goals and 15 assists in 27 games, so he is certainly a player that scouts will continue to keep a very close eye on.
